The Challenge

An industrial client engaged us to revamp their talent practices. Coming from a low utilization of performance review, the company was working to implement a new online performance and potential appraisal system and drive internal change to build a culture of performance.

Our solution

On this project, we worked with both the client and the external vendor of the system. The project was in three phases:

Phase 1:  Preparation

At this stage we worked with the client, utilizing the ADKAR® methodology to assess the general levels of awareness, identify pockets of resistance, and script the communication strategy for the sponsors.

With the vendor, we worked on customizing the system according to the performance review and potential appraisal workflow we had previously agreed with the client.

Phase 2: Deployment

Once the system and communication plan was ready, we built two separate workshops. One for the HR personnel, as a train-the-trainer, to enable them to support both on technical aspects of the system, as well as on the contents of the new initiative.

The other workshop was designed for key managers, to raise levels of awareness and motivation and equip them with the knowledge and tools to drive the new performance review and potential appraisal exercise.

Phase 3 - Follow up

We set a 75 days deadline and identified 63% completion as success for the project. We included two monthly calls with the client's team and HR to monitor the process and attained a 74% completion rate, 11 points in excess of the target.
